For anyone who may not have read my previous blog, "Rose Colored Glasses", I have been planning my wedding for this August. I'm so excited. I really want to go with a rustic-woodland theme. I like the idea of using moss and wood slices as decor. One of the very first inspirational posts I came across for the big day was this one, from the site Once Wed. I loved everything from the picnic tables, to the feathers, to the mossy tablescape.
I love that they used sweet peas, the flower for April- my birth month. Getting married in August, however, I think they may be out of season. I may have to splurge and tuck a few into my bouquet, if I can order some from a florist. I'm not having bridesmaids, so I don't have to worry about other bouquets.
I also really love the juxtaposition of all the really elegant crystal and silver with the rustic wood picnic tables, burlap, and moss. I've collected candlesticks and vases over the past few months, that I think will mimic this tablescape. I have to figure out how to be economical, however, because I'm on a very small budget. I may dress one table a bit elaborate, and leave the others more simple.
Shopping second-hand helps a lot, too. I've picked up a lot of my items from thrift stores. I actually love thrifting. Its fun to see what people have discarded, and try to figure out a new use for something.
What are some of your favorite wedding themes?

Nice to follow, here!:)
Thanks for coming over from the old blog!
I'm a huge fan of everything purple! Probably my favorite color, if I had to choose one. :)
i can't believe it's august already :) your new blog is very very pretty!
Thank you, Krystal. I feel like the new blog is more "me". I'm working on lots of posts, and I'm a day ahead of myself! *yay*
Yes, August is quickly approaching. *scary* I designed some cute Save-the-Dates last night, because the man thought his family and friends in Florida should get one. He had a point. :)
what an excellent idea. How exciting that you're getting married.
I'm also loving the new blog. It takes a lot of courage to create a new blog. I've tried it a few times, but always end up back at my old one :D good luck.
Your new blog is so pretty. I cannot wait to see your wedding planning process here....beautiful choices!
Thanks Melissa and Nicole! I'm really excited about the new blog. So far it just feels like it fits better, and makes me happier! :)
I'm very excited to be getting married. Its honestly something I never thought would happen. I'll be 31 in less than 2 months. I don't feel this age, and it seems kind of weird that I'm an "adult".
